Forest Sciences Committee is a permanent body of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which is a self-governing representation of scientists dealing with forest and forestry and aimed at the integration and cooperation.

KNL was established in the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1956 within the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Veterinary Sciences, and since 2011 the Committee is part of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Sciences.

The Committee consists of members of Polish Academy of Sciences as well as outstanding academics, representing higher education institutions and research institutes, elected every five years.
